SHOW DETAIL

Experience the Argentine Asado Tradition

Experience the ritual of an authentic Argentine barbecue just as we do. A warm and genuine culinary experience in the heart of San Telmo.

Location: Colonial-style rooftop terrace at the top of our historic house
Duration: 4 hours
Bilingual Grill Master: English & Spanish, guiding you through every step of the experience

Itinerary

1. Welcome Reception
Begin on our rooftop terrace with a traditional Argentine appetizer platter featuring artisan cheeses, cured meats, olives, and homemade bread.

Drinks included: Vermouth, a glass of Malbec from Mendoza, Torrontés from Salta, soft drinks, beer, and mineral water.

A brief cultural introduction: What does the Argentine asado represent to us?

2. The Art of the Grill
Our grill master introduces the different beef and pork cuts, explaining where they come from, how they are prepared, seasoning techniques, cooking times, and the differences between charcoal and wood-fired grilling.

Tasting includes: Short Ribs (Asado de Tira), Flank Steak (Vacío), Pork Matambre, Pork Chorizo, Blood Sausage (Morcilla), and Sweetbreads.

3. Traditional Empanada Workshop
Learn how to prepare authentic Northern Argentine empanadas made with hand-cut beef. Each guest prepares their own empanada, learns the traditional crimping technique ("repulgue"), and cooks it on a traditional cast-iron plow disc.

4. Argentine Sauce Workshop
Prepare three classic Argentine sauces while discovering their origins and traditions:

  • Chimichurri
  • Provençal Garlic & Parsley Sauce
  • Salsa Criolla

5. Time to Feast
Gather around the table to enjoy everything we've prepared together while sharing stories, traditions, and the spirit of Argentine hospitality.

6. Dessert on the Grill
Caramelized dulce de leche pancakes cooked on the grill.

7. Mate & After-Dinner Tradition
Discover the history and cultural significance of Argentina's national drink. Each guest prepares their own mate and also makes a traditional alfajor de maicena.
